Steven has been teaching cello for over fifteen years, ever since serving as a teaching assistant to Pam Devenport during summer breaks from Ithaca College. After many years, Steven took his first Suzuki course in the summer of 2004 at the Ithaca Suzuki Institute. Since this time, he has remained committed to the Suzuki philosophy and style while continuing to assist transfer students in a more traditional approach. Steven currently has Suzuki training through Book Three of the cello repertoire from the School for Strings in New York City. He has had private cello studios in Wichita, KS and Allentown, PA; and has taught at the Community Music School of Allentown, PA; the Community Conservatory of Doylestown, PA; Settlement Music School of Jenkintown, PA; the Moorestown School of Music (an all Suzuki school) in Moorestown, NJ; and has recently served as a substitute teacher at the School for Strings in New York, NY. Steven currently teaches privately in Philadelphia to beginners as young as four years old, but also accepts older students and students who have previous cello experience.
